Behind the scenes at MELT, and why I share what I’m learning


Let me properly introduce myself. Hi, I’m Nalleli.

I work behind the scenes at MELT Method, supporting content, education, and communication. 

My role lives at the intersection of strategy, storytelling, and learning. I translate what’s happening inside the method into language that feels human, grounded, and useful.

How I Came to MELT

I’ve spent over 15 years working in the beauty and wellness space, always drawn to the intersection of service, storytelling, and transformation. When I first joined MELT, it wasn’t because I had all the answers. It was because I had questions. About my body. About sensation. About why certain things felt heavy, tight, or stuck even when I was “doing everything right.

What drew me in wasn’t only the method itself, but the way it was held.

MELT was never positioned as a quick fix or a rigid system. It was observational. Curious. Respectful of the body’s intelligence. That mattered to me.

Working alongside Sue gave me a front-row seat to something rare. An educator who leads with curiosity. Someone who tests, questions, refines, and listens deeply before ever making a claim. MELT was never just a method to me. It was a language I was learning to understand in my own body.

Over time, my role evolved. I moved closer to the educational and storytelling side of the brand, not as an instructor, but as a student. Someone learning in real time. Someone listening closely. Someone watching how ideas become practices, and how practices become tools people genuinely rely on.

That posture — learning first, sharing second — shaped the voice you’ve been hearing. And slowly, I realized that what I was really doing was learning how to translate sensation into words.


The Moment That Changed Everything

In 2025, I attended the Naples retreat. It was my first time meeting Sue in person and my first time meeting many of you face to face.

We sat together at tables. We listened. We practiced. We talked about our bodies, our questions, and our experiences with MELT. And something unexpected happened.

I started hearing how my words had landed.

People shared that my emails helped them understand MELT differently. That certain explanations made things click. That the way I framed sensation, fascia, or breath changed how they approached their own practice.

That moment landed with weight.

That’s when it clicked. What I shared wasn’t just informational. It shaped interpretation. It influenced trust. It affected how someone showed up for themselves.

At the same time, I was witnessing Sue in her element. Brainstorming out loud. Teaching off the cuff. Following curiosity wherever it led. Conversations that only happen in intimate spaces, when an educator is fully in flow.

Watching that made something clear to me. I wasn’t here to interpret or repackage Sue’s work. I was here to reflect what I was learning firsthand, from the room, the process, and the practice itself. That’s when these weekly notes began.

The Turning Point I Didn’t Expect

Around that same time, I had a front-row seat to something that reshaped how I understood MELT’s integrity.

The Fascia Hydrator was not originally created inside MELT. It was developed by a trusted colleague of Sue’s. What followed was not a simple addition, but a thoughtful process of adoption.

To refine her understanding, Sue embarked on a three-month research pilot. The goal was to observe how the tool interacted with fascia, hydration, and the nervous system over time. She studied the science, gathered feedback, and paid close attention to how bodies responded. 

Patterns mattered. So did restraint.

That research deepened her clarity. It also led her to begin developing training around the tool, so it can be used with intention and integrity within the method.

Watching that unfold changed me. I saw the iteration, the curiosity, and the care that went into deciding how and when something truly belongs inside MELT.

So I stayed in observer mode. I listened. I took notes. I watched Sue use it. Then curiosity won, and I picked it up myself.

What started as research turned into ritual.

That experience moved me from observing to practicing. It also made my job clearer. Share what I’m learning, explain why it matters, and leave room for you to choose what supports you.


Why I Share What I’m Learning

I never set out to teach through email.

I started sharing because I was learning, and because I believed others might benefit from walking alongside that learning.

What surprised me was the response.

People wrote back.
They asked thoughtful questions.
They shared how something clicked or softened or shifted for them.

What emerged was trust.

My goal has never been to sell you something you don’t need. It has always been to help you understand why something exists, how it’s meant to support you, and when it might be useful.

If you’ve read Sue’s recent reflection, From Pain to Purpose, you’ll recognize that same through-line. Her story of listening to her own body, following the science, and letting curiosity guide the work mirrors why this method — and this way of sharing — exists at all.


What You Can Expect From Me

I’ll continue sharing what I’m learning as MELT evolves.

That includes:

  • Context from inside new tools and education

  • Reflections from working closely with Sue and the team

  • Practical insights you can apply to your own self-care

  • Behind-the-scenes moments when they add clarity and depth

Sometimes I’ll share a favorite practice. Sometimes a book. Sometimes a moment that made me pause.

You won’t find urgency for urgency’s sake here.
You will find honesty, curiosity, and care.


A Few Favorites From My Own Self-Care Practice

When I’m not writing or learning, these are a few things I personally return to:

  • The MELT Journal
    This is where everything starts for me. A place to notice patterns, track sensation, and reflect without pressure. It keeps my self-care honest and grounded, especially on busy days.

  • A Simple Rest Assess
    Before I “do” anything, I pause. I notice where my body meets the floor. I take a few slow breaths. That quiet check-in changes everything that comes after.

  • 3D Breath with Light Chest Touch
    Front, sides, and back. Letting the ribs expand and soften. This one brings me back to myself fast, especially when my nervous system feels a little loud.

  • Upper Body Compression with the Fascia Hydrator
    A few minutes here goes a long way. It’s become one of my favorite ways to unwind tension and reset at the end of the day.

These aren’t checklists. They’re anchors. The things I reach for when I want my body to feel a little more like home.
